Charlie begins his tenth season in the Devil Rays organization, his third with the Biscuits, and his fourth at the Double-A level ... On April 23, 2005, in his 1,000th game as a manager, Montgomery defeated Mobile 10-6 at Riverwalk Stadium to give him a 500-500 career record ... Led the Biscuits to a 57-83 finish in thier inaugural campaign...Managed the Orlando Rays in 2003 to a 7th-place finish at 65-72 ... Managed the Bakersfield Blaze of the California League in 2001 and 2002 ... Bakersfield was the only Rays affiliate to reach the playoffs in 2001, and the club missed the postseason by one game in 2002 ... Skippered the Charleston (SC) RiverDogs in 1999 and again in 2000, when he led the team to its first winning season as a Devil Rays affiliate ... Managed the Hudson Valley Renegades of the New York-Penn League to a division win and a league-best record in 1998 ... Began his managerial career as the skipper of the Princeton Devil Rays in 1997 ... Montoyo spent 10 years as an infielder in the Brewers, Expos and Phillies organizations ...
