Harrell shuts down Biscuits 5-0 in series finale
Biscuits head to Jacksonville trailing Braves by 1.5 games

HOOVER - Birmingham Barons (24-25; 64-55) starter Lucas Harrell shutout the Montgomery Biscuits (29-20; 63-56) 5-0 in Sunday's series finale at Regions Park.

The Biscuits managed only two hits against Harrell, who lasted seven scoreless innings, striking out six and walking two.

Montgomery had few scoring changes, but their best came in the eighth inning. John Lujan loaded the bases with just one out before the Southern League's saves leader Jon Link, struck out Rashad Eldridge and pinch hitter J.T. Hall to end the threat. Link's 30 saves lead all of the minor leagues.

Biscuits starter Mike Prochaska looked solid through his first three frames, but got into trouble, allowing the first five men to reach base in the fourth. C.J Lang had the biggest hit, a bases clearing two-run double and Robert Valido added a two out RBI single, making the score 4-0.

Reliever Steve Andrade walked in a fifth insurance run in the sixth as the Barons continued to hold the Biscuits scoreless, taking the final regular season meeting between the two division rivals, 5-0.

Montgomery heads to Jacksonville for the first and only time in 2008. The Suns swept the Biscuits at Riverwalk Stadium in the first half, so the Biscuits will be looking to even the score in the five game set. Jason Cromer takes the mound for the Biscuits in the lid lifter onTuesday night.
