Price fans 10 in Biscuits 10th straight win,10-1 over Jaxx
Biscuits pick up ground on surging Braves, now 2.5 games back

MONTGOMERY - David Price put on his most dominating performance as a Montgomery Biscuit (25-16), striking out ten West Tenn Diamond Jaxx (16-25) on the way to his tenth professional victory, without suffering a single loss.

Price (6-0) went seven strong innings, striking out a Biscuits season high, ten batters. The lone Diamond Jaxx run scored on a solo homer by leadoff man Greg Halman. Despite allowing his seventh homer in his last four starts, Price gave up only three other hits and walked none.

The Montgomery lefthander had plenty of help from a Biscuits offense that rocked West Tenn pitching for double digit runs on 14 hits.

Jaxx starter Doug Fister got off to a rough start in the first inning, as the Biscuits batted around, plating five runners on five base hits. Montgomery ended up tallying ten runs in the game, with Gaby Martinez involved in almost every rally.

Martinez had perhaps his best offensive outburst of the season, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs. Erold Andrus and Rhyne Hughes also drove in two runs apiece and a trio of Biscuits, Rashad Eldridge, Ronnie Merrill and Chris Nowak all touched home twice in the 10-1 blowout.

Fister finished the game after three innings, having given up eight runs on ten hits. The loss would be Fister's 11th in his last 13 starts.

Sunday night, in the middle game of the five game set, the Diamond Jaxx send recent acquisition from the Arthur Rhodes trade, Gaby Hernandez, to the hill to take on Rays righthand prospect Jeremy Hellickson. The Biscuits go for their 11th straight victory at Riverwalk Stadium starting at 6:05.
