Biscuits drop heartbreaker to Barons, 5-3
Nanita continues to torment Biscuits

MONTGOMERY - After Birmingham Barons (17-12) catcher Jared Price homered off of Montgomery Biscuits (13-15) closer Colter Bean to tie the game at three in the ninth inning, Barons rightfielder Ricardo Nanita got the best of the Biscuits once again with a game winning RBI single in extra innings.

Nanita has abused the Biscuits all season and drove in Miguel Negron, who lead off the tenth with a single and was sacrificed into scoring position by Robert Valido. Nanita would eventually score the final run of the ballgame, later in the inning, making the final score 5-3. Earlier in the night, he drove in Valido on an RBI double, giving the Barons an early lead.

Biscuits starter Mike Prochaska pitched well in his return to Montgomery. He kept the Biscuits in the game, allowing two runs on five hits in six solid innings. The offense struggled however and the Biscuits failed to score until the sixth.

Chris Nowak belted a solo home run to break up Justin Cassel's shut out in the sixth inning. Nowak carried the Biscuits offense with a 4-for-5 performance and two RBIs. JT Hall added another long ball to give the Biscuits their only lead of the game, 3-2 after eight.

John Lujan held the Biscuits batters in check with two scoreless frames, while the Barons scored three unanswered runs to win it in extras.

Jason Cromer gets the nod for the Biscuits on Sunday at 6:05, making his first AA start in 2008. He will oppose Esteban Loiaza, rehabbing in his second start for the Barons. Loiaza tossed two scoreless against the Biscuits in game two, just three days ago.
