Price, Nowak star in 5-0 shutout of Braves
Biscuits score second shutout of season

MONTGOMERY - David Price was the immovable object and Chris Nowak was the irresistable force for the Montgomery Biscuits (5-9; 39-45) at Riverwalk Stadium Tuesday night in a 5-0 win over the Mississippi Braves (9-5; 39-45).
Price (2-0), in his home debut, threw six shutout innings to earn the win, while Nowak knocked in all five runs.
Nowak clubbed a three-run homer in the first inning against Braves starter Deunte Heath and a two-run single in the eighth inning against reliever Luis Valdez. His 54 RBIs now rank second on the team and fifth in the Southern League.
Heath was outstanding after Nowak's home run, lasting until the end of the seventh inning while facing only one hitter over the minimum total, thanks to three double plays behind him. In all, he allowed three runs on five hits in seven innings, walking two and striking out three.
Price was better. In his eighth professional outing, Price allowed five hits, all singles. He walked two and struck out five, working out of some trouble and stranding runners at third base in the first and third innings. He threw an estimated 98 pitches and moved to 6-0 in his professional career, including his four wins in Vero Beach (A-Advanced - Florida State League).
Richard De Los Santos followed Price, making his return from a three-week stint on the disabled list. He allowed a single but set down six in a row, striking out two. Colter Bean finished the shutout with a scoreless ninth.
The Biscuits have sealed at least a split in the four-game series and send Jeremy Hellickson to the mound Wednesday night for his own Riverwalk Stadium debut. He'll face Mississippi righthander Kris Medlen.
