Biscuits finish sweep of BayBears, 4-1
Montgomery takes three-game set in Mobile

MOBILE – With a 4-1 win over the Mobile BayBears Sunday night, the Montgomery Biscuits finished off a three-game sweep at Hank Aaron Stadium and won the ninth of their last 11 games.
The BayBears began the bottom of the first with four consecutive singles against Montgomery starter Mike Prochaska but did not score again. Prochaska earned the run by throwing seven full innings, allowing eight hits and walking two with no strikeouts.
The Biscuits played error-free baseball again and did not commit a single error in the five games against Mobile. The BayBears are statistically the league's best defensive club, but their errors figured into all of Montgomery's runs Monday night.
With two out in the second inning, third baseman Rusty Ryal threw low to first base, allowing Pat Cottrell to reach base. Cottrell and Sergio Pedroza would score moments later on a single by Josh Asanovich.
The two unearned runs were the only blemishes on Mobile starter Matt Torra, who lost to drop to 4-4.
Mobile committed two more errors on one play in the seventh inning, when Johnny Raburn slapped a ground ball to the right side of the infield with Josh Asanovich on first base. First baseman Brian Byrne sailed his throw over pitcher Vince Bongiovanni at first base, allowing Raburn to reach. As Asanovich tried for third base, Bongiovanni picked up the ball and threw it over third baseman Ryal, allowing Asanovich to score and Raburn to reach second. Rhyne Hughes later singled home Raburn.
Roger Deago threw two scoreless innings to earn the save. The former BayBear has now thrown 11 consecutive outings without allowing an earned run, spanning 16 innings.
The series was the Biscuits' first-ever three-game sweep in Mobile.
Montgomery begins a five-game series in Chattanooga Monday at 6:15 p.m. with lefty Jake McGee on the mound.
