Biscuits blow lead and lose, 5-4
Braves walk to victory in the 9th

PEARL, Miss. – Montgomery Biscuits closer Steve Andrade walked four in the ninth inning at Trustmark Park Monday night, including bases-loaded walks that scored the game-tying and game-winning runs. The Biscuits lost, 5-4, and the Misssissippi Braves took the lead in the five-game series.
It was the second lead lost by the Biscuits' bullpen in the game and the third in the series. It was the second time in a week that the Biscuits lost a two-run lead in the ninth while only allowing one ball out of the infield.
Andrade walked Paul Bennett with one out before striking out J.C. Holt to bring the Biscuits within one out of a 4-2 victory. But shortstop Javier Guzman blooped a single into left field, and umpire Nick Nolde charged Andrade with a blak that brought home Bennett and moved Guzman to second. The Biscuits chose to intentionally walk Jason Perry and then hit .129 hitter Quentin Davis in the foot to load the bases. Andrade then walked Greg Creek on five pitches and Reid Gorecki on four pitches to finish the game.
The Biscuits had captured an early lead, scoring two runs against Mississippi starter Todd Redmond before any were out. Rashad Eldridge singled and scored on a triple by Ronnie Merrill, who in turn scored on a Rhyne Hughes single.
Redmond allowed nothing more in his six-inning start while matching a career high by striking out nine.
The Braves retaliated with one against Biscuits starter James Houser in the first inning, as a Greg Creek groundout plated J.C. Holt. Houser allowed three hits and one run over five innings.
Houser's chances for a win evaporated when Jino Gonzalez allowed a double and threw a wild pitch in the sixth.
Montgomery got one more in the eighth when Hughes doubled to score Merrill and one in the ninth when a Gaby Martinez single plated Erold Andrus.
The Biscuits face Braves prospect Tommy Hanson on Tuesday night, countering with righty Richard De Los Santos. Gametime is 7:05.
