American Red Cross To Hold First "Red Day"
Set for Friday, June 11th at Riverwalk Stadium
MONTGOMERY, AL – The Montgomery Biscuits and the American Red Cross of Central Alabama together with the city of Montgomery proclaimed Friday, June 11th, Red Day. The event is the first time for the Red Cross to partner with the Montgomery Biscuits on an event of this magnitude.
The purpose of Red Day is to help spread awareness about the American Red Cross of Central Alabama and to help compliment their One Day campaign to a more public market. This is an opportunity for the Montgomery Biscuits to help raise donations for the Red Cross. Fans are encouraged to wear red to the game and also donate $1 or more when purchasing tickets.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the American Red Cross of Central Alabama on the first “Red Day” event at Riverwalk Stadium” says Sherrie Myers owner of the Biscuits. “It is such an important organization that helps people all over the state in their time of need. We hope to be able to help them make an impact on the community.”
The game will feature Red Cross representatives on the field and a video message thanking everyone for their participation. Also, fun facts about the American Red Cross will be featured on the scoreboard throughout the game to help educate fans.
“The American red Cross of Central Alabama cannot thank the Montgomery Biscuits enough for teaming up with us on getting our message out to the public”, says Jackie Buck, Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross of Central Alabama. “I believe that this “Red Day” event will help get our message out to the community we all love and share.”
