Biscuits Blast Way to Win
Wrigley homers twice, Eldridge once in 10-6 win
MONTGOMERY, AL – Henry Wrigley homered twice and drove home five, and the Biscuits (46-38) scored double digits in runs for the first time in the second half, beating the Mobile BayBears (45-39) 10-6 on Wednesday at Riverwalk.
Wrigley’s first blast was a three-run job in the first inning to put the Biscuits in front 3-2 after Kory Casto had homered in the first for Mobile. Rashad Eldridge smashed a two-run shot later in the inning to make it 5-2 on the first inning of the season with two Biscuits homers.
The BayBears cut it to one with a two-out, Cyle Hankerd single in the third, but the Biscuits opened it to 7-4 on a Chris De La Cruz two-out triple in the bottom-half. Mobile would again make it a one-run game at 7-6 with two runs in the sixth, but Wrigley clubbed his second homer of the night to make it 8-6, and a Nevin Ashley sac fly and a Wrigley RBI single completed the scoring in the seventh.
Wrigley was 3-4 with a walk. Eldridge was 3-5 with a pair of RBI and a pair of runs as well.
Alex Cobb (4-2) took the win for the Biscuits, allowing a season-high five runs over 5.1. Mobile starter Pat McAnaney (3-8) gave up seven runs (four earned) in 3.2 in a loss.
