ASTA Holds Memorial Ride to Riverwalk Stadium
Fallen Troopers to be Honored Before Game on August 30th
MONTGOMERY, AL – The Alabama State Troopers Association will hold the 2009 memorial ride on Sunday, August 30th. The ride, which honors the memory of those troopers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, will include riders from all across the state of Alabama.
"State Troopers put their lives on the line every day to make Alabama a safer place to live, said Executive Director of the Alabama State Trooper Association Danny Hester. "The Alabama State Trooper Association Memorial Ride honors the twenty nine Alabama State Troopers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Proceeds from this event will help to provide much needed life insurance for the State Troopers who protect our lives and the lives of our families every day."
Riders will meet at starting points throughout the state (Listed Below), and make the trip to Riverwalk Stadium where a memorial service will be held for fallen troopers on the field at 1:00 PM. The service will precede the Biscuits game against the Carolina Mudcats (Cincinnati Reds) at 2:05 PM.
"We feel extremely fortunate to be able to participate in this very special event," said Biscuits' General Manager Greg Rauch. "It is of great importance to remember the sacrifices that Troopers have made to ensure the quality of life we enjoy in Alabama."
